Show season is finally upon us! The first major show on the UK calendar has come and gone and we went down to see what people had been working on all winter. We snapped as many pics as we could before we decided to pack away the gear and just take in all the cars ourselves. Stand outs for us were the red MK1 Jetta Coupe, White MK1 golf on E30’s, all of PSI Tunings builds (those guys are on it!), Greg Howells R32, and the red Porker on the gold Rotiforms. Those are by no means the only good builds and you can never ignore the Players crews cars. The consistently put out amazing builds, even if they are controversial at times. The only disappointment for me was the lack of cars from the Grounded crew. Maybe I just missed them in the chaos, but I would have loved to see a few more cars from those guys. Ive always been a big fan of MK3 golfs. They walk a fine line between old school and new wave metal, and in my opinion you get the best of both worlds in a MK3. They have the strong lines from the Mk1’s and Mk2’s combined with the refinement that is built into the newer platforms, and when done right I think its hard to beat a quality MK3. Tom Pine’s example is exactly that. Quality.

This past weekend Tom and fellow DNE member Jonny Elliot (Jonny owns the 6N2 Polo we posted earlier this month) went out and snapped a few pics for all of you to enjoy.

In a day and age where most 4th gen VW’s are treated to brightly coloured wheels, excessive poke, and interiors that look like they have been trimmed in the owners pyjamas, Dave’s Bora cuts through the clutter like a razor blade.

Its often said that the 4th gen Golfs and Boras are the most common dubs on the scene these days, and as a result it is becoming increasingly difficult to make ones car stand out from the crowd. While many choose to go to extremes to get theirs looking unique, this car simply commands attention. A long list of subtle and tasteful mods a have resulted in an overall package that is hard as nails and a breath of fresh air all at the same time.
